Big news in Iceland!
Our President ,Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, has refused to sign a new bill of law concernig the medialaw and so now we, the people of Iceland, must vote. This is the first time in the Republic of Iceland that this is done. The President has never ever refused to sign a bill so what will happen...Our prime minester is furious and has not commented but we know he is pissed, this has been a huge thing in Iceland. It has actually turned into a witch hunt against one man and his company. His name is Jón Ásgeir and he is steadly owning Iceland one business and media at a time...And why is that bad u ask? Because of course then he "controls" what we see and read and hear, he is dominant on the media market. He also owns a lot of stores so which commercials do u think that we see and hear...of course from his own stores....So where do the sheep go and buy stuff... we want what we see everyday...its basic commercial psychology and it works... very clever man Jón is but hello France 16th century....Of course this can not continue, there has to be a red stop sign but this has turned our parliment into a joke. Davíð, the prime minester, doenst like Jón so all of a sudden he goes after him and it´s personal. SO one person cant own a tv station, a radio station and a newspaper which I agree with but to brand the man with the Scarlett letter might be pushing it...It has gotten personal and people have forgotten what the law is about and how we can change it or if we should. Its a frenzy and the new big think, where do u stand? Everybody has their knickers in a twist over this especially the politicians....What happened when Bush took something personal....does anybody remember?
Enough of politics. Today I am going to go see my dad in prison. He will probably be in there for a year, a little over maybe, we dont know. My family is doing ok, my mom is a rock, we are just all trying to stick together and get through this. FUN FUN FUN.
I am working on getting a laptop so I can blog on a more regular basis. I am a bum that has no car so I have to take the bus to go see him and I am running late. I dont know how this makes me feel and I dont know what to expect... I will blog later

.... by accident. I did a search on iceland indra blog (it was meant to be india) and discovered your site (I plan on visiting Iceland). But found your blog interesting and enjoyed getting a glimpse in the everyday life of an icelander.
Cheers.
